Guide To A /me

A /me is used to describe actions performed by your character that cannot be shown through in-game animations. It can also be used to display your character’s expressions, moods, or physical appearance such as what they’re wearing. A /me appears in your character’s vicinity and should always be written in third person. You do not need to include your character’s name, as the command does that automatically. A proper /me should not begin with a capital letter but must end with a period. It’s important to be detailed and use proper grammar when typing a /me, as this enhances the overall depth and quality of the roleplay. Lastly, profanity should never be used in a /me. Keeping these standards helps maintain immersive and respectful interactions on the server.
Proper Examples of a /me:
  • /me adjusts the strap on his backpack, glancing around the area nervously.
  • /me takes a cigarette box out of their pocket, removing a cigarette and placing it between their lips.
  • /me pulls a lighter from their back pocket, flicking it to light the cigarette resting in their mouth.
  • /me pulls out their wallet from their back pocket and takes out a couple of dollar bills, handing them to the cashier.
  • /me begins unloading the heavy boxes from the back of the truck, stacking them inside the warehouse one at a time.
  • /me lifts their head, locking eyes with the man/woman as they begin to explain the situation.

Always follow the rules and be fair when using /me in roleplay. Powergaming forcing an action or result on another player without giving them the chance to respond is strictly not allowed.

Example of powergaming:
/me punches the male/female in his/her face causing him/her to pass out.
  • Incorrect: /me gives license
Correct: /me takes his/her license out of his/her right pocket and hands it over to the officer.
  • Incorrect: /me hits male
Correct: /me curls up his/her fist and swings on the individual.
  • Incorrect: /me TAKES BAG
Correct: /me takes the bag from the individual, swinging it over his/her shoulder.
  • Incorrect: /me grabs gun to air this bitch out
Correct: /me places his Glock-17 onto his lap, gripping it in his hand.
  • Incorrect: /me Is DEAD.
Correct: /me lays lifeless on the ground.
Players are required to respond to your actions using a /me to show their character's reaction. If you perform an open-ended /me (one that allows the other player to respond), and the other party is unresponsive for 30–45 seconds, you may politely ask them once to reply. If they still don’t respond after being given a reasonable amount of time, your /me action may be considered successful.

Guide To A /do

A /do is used to describe the active roleplay scene around you, answer or ask questions related to that scene, and provide factual details about your character. It should always be written in third person, start with a capital letter, and must never be written in all caps or include any profanity. A /do is not used to show actions or emotions—that is what the /me command is for. You must never lie in a /do, as doing so is considered powergaming and may lead to a ban. When roleplaying, it’s important that you use /do when asking or answering questions, especially in scenes where clarification is needed. Additionally, when attempting to take items from another player, you are required to use a /do to initiate the interaction. You cannot take items forcefully unless the player is held at gunpoint or is unconscious. Keep in mind, unconscious does not mean dead—you are not allowed to loot from dead bodies under any circumstance.
Proper examples of a /do:
  • /do Would the female smell any marijuana or alcohol coming from the vehicle?
/do No, the female would not smell any marijuana or alcohol coming from the vehicle.
  • /do John would have a cast wrapped around his right arm.
  • /me attempts to take the male’s hat off of his head.
    /do Would he succeed?
  • /me begins to pat the male down for any belongings.
/do What items would he/she find?
  • /me takes his handcuffs off his duty belt and places them on the individual’s wrist.
    /do Would the individual resist?
  • /do There would be a fresh open cut on the male/female’s face along with bruises down their body.
  • /do The scent of alcohol would linger on John’s breath.
Incorrect examples of a /do:
  • /do SWING ON MALE.
  • /do pulls cash out pocket.
  • /do Checks the male for a pulse, would he have one?
  • /me checks the male for a pulse.
  • /do Would the male have a pulse?
Always respond to a /do. If you do not reply, it will be seen as avoiding roleplay, which can lead to a ban. Make sure to answer a /do within 3 to 5 minutes.

Fire Department Call Guide

When calling for EMS using /911ems, it’s important to provide clear details and your exact location. This ensures responders can accurately and efficiently assist you.

Good Call Examples:

  • /911ems Hello, my name is [First & Last], and there is an unconscious male on the ground in the Parkway Gardens housing complex. His pulse has been checked. Please send help.
  • /911ems Hello, my name is [First & Last]. I am currently located at the park in Englewood with an unconscious female who has a light pulse. Could we get an ambulance, please?
  • (If you died and are alone) /911ems Hello, my name is [First & Last], and I have come across an unresponsive male on the ground who is showing a light pulse. Could I get some EMS down here to West Woodlawn?

Subpar Call Examples:

  • /911ems My friend died we need ems.
  • /911ems I died to not eating.
  • /911ems Need help I’m dead.
Tips:
  • Always include your full name (in character).
  • Always include your location.
  • Describe the situation with enough detail for EMS to respond properly.
  • Avoid vague or unrealistic messages.

Police/Sheriff Department Call Guide

When making a police call using /911, it’s important to give clear, detailed information. This helps law enforcement respond effectively and realistically.

Bad Police Call Examples:

  • /911 There is a group of males saying they have guns on them and they are scaring me because of the yelling.
  • /911 I got into a car accident, can I have an ambulance.
  • /911 Someone is attempting to rob me, please send someone.
These are vague or incomplete. They don’t provide enough context or location, and lack RP detail.

Valid Police Call Examples:

  • /911 My name is [Insert your character’s first and last name]. I am currently located on [Insert street name or landmark]. There is a group of males yelling at each other inside this store, and it’s making a lot of people uncomfortable. Can you have police assess the situation before something happens? There are about five of them, and they are wearing [brief description of clothing]. I heard them mention firearms might be drawn.
  • /911 My name is [Insert your character’s first and last name]. I am currently located on [Insert street name or landmark]. I was just in a car accident, and the other driver is refusing to exchange information. I don’t need medical attention, just help exchanging details. I’ve documented the other vehicle’s license plate in case they drive off.
  • /911 My name is [Insert your character’s first and last name]. I am currently located on [Insert street name or landmark]. Someone is following me and trying to steal my belongings. They’ve been following me for about 2–3 minutes and I’m scared. I’m running out of breath. The person is wearing [brief description of clothing] and brandishing a firearm. I tried to get away, please send someone. I’m in danger.
If you’re in an active roleplay situation and can’t realistically use your name, you’re allowed to use /911 (Local Caller). This must be done in-character and with appropriate context.

Example:
/911 (Local Caller) I was just walking down the street and noticed a person (male or female) lying on the ground. I haven’t approached them yet, but they seem intoxicated or possibly passed out. Can someone be sent to check on them? We’re located on [Insert street name or nearest landmark].

Always prioritize realism and clarity when calling 911. Include your name, location, and enough detail for the situation to make sense in a roleplay setting.[/CENTER][/CENTER][/CENTER]
